Eligibilty for SMLS Services

SMLS seeks to make its services accessible to as many residents as possible. This access may be limited to legal advice because we do not have enough staff to handle all of the requests for services.

Proveemos servícios legales civiles sin costo para personas que cúmplen con nuestros requisitos de eligibilidad y que viven en la área geográfica que se encuentra en la página anterior.

Services are available to residents who live in the communities served by SMLS, meet the income guidelines established by the Legal Services Corporation, and whose requests for help fall within the priorities listed in CASES HANDLED.

We serve clients who reside in the following communities:

Income Guidelines

Your income cannot exceed 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If you need legal help, please call our number listed below. An intake worker will determine whether SMLS can help you. Even if we cannot take your case, we may be able to refer you to other resources to help you with your problem.

SMLS cannot handle criminal cases.
