Nancy
King Memorial Golf Tournament
Monday, May 19, 2008
Framingham Country Club
Framingham, MA
With the year-long construction now complete, the FCC was in prime condition to host the 11th annual SMLS charity golf event, renamed this year in memory of executive director Nancy King. 108 golfers, many wearing their newly-acquired fleece vests to shield against an unseasonably strong wind, played 18 holes with time left to enjoy a cocktail reception, live and silent auction and a buffet dinner. At the conclusion of the evening, the event had raised an astounding $66,000! Special thanks go to our Presenting Sponsor, The Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation. The event is co-sponsored by the Campaign for Legal Services Committee which sets an annual target goal of $100,000 in unrestricted revenue for SMLS. For every $10,000 raised, an additional 25 families can be helped with serious legal issues ranging from advice to representation and litigation.
Special recognition also goes to our Golf Committee members who worked hard to secure sponsorships and prize donations:
Co-chairs Michael Leon, Esq, and Bob Molloy, Esq; Jack Agnew, who acted as auctioneer; Larry Erickson, Jill Hanchett, Chris Horblit, Esq, Bruce Ledoux, Esq, George McCarthy, Esq, Jim McLaughlin, Esq, and Ralph Lepore, Esq.
