“Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Mouses!”
The 2007 online auction came to a screeching halt in three short weeks, but not before raising nearly $20,000. Thanks to our underwriter, The Peter Condakes Company, and our sponsors, Nutter, McClennen & Fish, LLP, and BJs Wholesale Club.
Save on gas and buy your holiday gifts online! We have moved the 2008 online auction to December. Watch for a Save the Date card in the fall.
Volunteer For (PBVP)
Without the help of the private bar, a large number
of low-income residents in our service area will not receive the
legal help they desperately need. Please consider joining the PBVP
and represent one of our clients each year. We are committed to
providing thorough screening as well as backup services and advice
as needed. A volunteer is free to choose any type of case. We do
not expect you to take any case with which you are uncomfortable.
Just complete our REGISTRATION FORM to join the program.
Donate to the
Contributions from lawyers, law firms, corporations,
foundations and concerned local citizens provide approximately
15% of the total funding for South Middlesex Legal Services. The
program needs your donation to help narrow the gap between the
needs of our clients and the available resources.
Participate in the
Framingham Country Club
Since 1998, attorneys, community leaders and friends have come together to play in the SMLS annual golf tournament to benefit low-income people in our service area. Each year, we set a target goal of $50,000 which has been met or surpassed most years. This year, we surprised even ourselves by raising an astounding $66,000. Our thanks go to The Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation for stepping in as our Presenting Sponsor ($7500), and Nutter, McClennen & Fish, LLP, for participating for the past ten years as a Platinum Sponsor ($5000.)
Other
SMLS has been fortunate to have volunteers work in
our office from time to time. Please contact us if you would like
to discuss volunteer opportunities.
